Supporting the GB Women’s Baseball Team

The GB Women's team will be competing in the WBSC European Championships in 2025 and preparing for that tournament over the next 12 months.

The team is an integral part of the national programme and is represented by players from across the country.

In addition to direct support from the Federation, we have launched a campaign to raise money to support the athletes and their long-term commitment to the GB jersey. The sport is amateur and the costs associated with being a GB Baseball player are largely met by the athletes themselves.

In 2025 the team will take part in the WBSC European championships and we need to make sure they have the best possible preparation.

As well as the regular training sessions in the UK, the players will head to Florence in Italy at the beginning of April for a week long training camp. As well daily training session and workouts, the team will compete in six games against U16, U18 and senior Italian men's teams.

"Being on the spring GB team makes me feel proud and pushes me to be the best player I can be. I can't wait to be playing in Italy," said Gabriella Sassoli.

Any funds raised will be allocated by the BBF and Head Coach towards:-

  • Equipment such as apparel and other specialist baseball equipment

  • Transport costs to and from Florence

  • Accommodation and food costs in Florence.

  • Financial support to individual players based on consideration by the coaching team

  • Training session costs throughout the year
