Week 5 recap
There was a break for the NBL this early May bank holiday weekend; however, baseball continued elsewhere around the country in week five of the 2025 season.

Birmingham Metalheads hosted Bristol Badgers in a repeat of the previous week’s fixture. An extremely tight first game saw the Metalheads record their first victory of the 2025 AAA campaign with a 2-1 win. The Badgers were too strong in game two, splitting the day with a 12-1 victory.
Richmond Roebucks and Bracknell Inferno battled at Westmorland Drive. Inferno, 8-1 down going into the bottom half of the fifth, turned the game around and finished with a bases-loaded walk which brought in the winning run as they saw off the Roebucks 14-13. Game two was much of the same with runs-a-plenty; this time Richmond held their lead from the first inning and winning 16-15.
Winless Croydon Pirates 2 visited Brighton Brewers who were looking to add to their opening weekend sweep.
After a scoreless first inning, Brighton took a 3-run lead in the second which they maintained throughout the game, winning 5-2. The Brewers dominated game two, moving themselves to 4-0 with an 11-1 win. The Pirates remain winless in six.
